World Without Orphans Live Discussion
Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Psalm 82:3
On May 6, Steve Saint will be a part of a Panel Discussion at the CAFO Summit in Orlando. CAFO, or The Christian Alliance for Orphans, exists to unite organizations, churches, and individuals worldwide to better equip Christians for effective orphan care.
"A World Without Orphans," a 30-minute documentary will be screened, followed by a panel discussion, "The Role of the Global Church in Pursuing a World Without Orphans". The session will begin at 11:00 am and Steve will be joined by Daniel Kaggwa, Brittany DeVries, and moderated by Dianne Becker.

Steve Saint was born and raised in Ecuador where his parents were missionaries. His father, Nate Saint, was the "Jungle Pilot" who was one of five men killed in 1956 by the Waodani Indians. Steve founded ITEC, Indigenous People's Technology and Education Center, to develop tools for frontier areas. He has authored three books: The Great Omission, End of the Spear, and Walking His Trail, and the curriculum series, Missions Dilemma. Daniel Kaggwa is a pastor of Sign of the Dove Church in Kampala, Uganda. There he and his wife, Erika, serve through the ministry In His Embrace Transitional Homes. Pastor Daniel began preaching a sermon series on God's adoption of His followers which led to 15 children in a group home being placed within the congregation. Today the children are thriving and have successfully finished school, the Kaggwas continue to help children find local families. Brittany DeVries: Founder and creative producer at Seedling Media Productions, Brittany produced Dear Panama (2012) a short documentary that lobbied successfully for legislative change in Panama. After the new law passed, Brittany and her family became the first foster family in Panama's pilot program. Birthed out of a desire to educate and promote family-based care Brittany co-produced A World Without Orphans with Dianne Becker and began developing her first feature narrative, Archive Pendiente (Pending File). Moderator Dianne Becker: With a background in television news, Dianne Becker is a documentary producer and filmmaker who works on projects in the missions world, including Missions Dilemma, Journey Into the Amazon, and Bad Legs. She has worked on three feature films, including End of the Spear.
