Why Film Training?

Have you ever thought about how many beautiful stories of redemption surround you and how many of those experiences go untold? Everyone has a story, and these days, everyone has a chance to share their experiences with millions over the internet and through social media. As of 2020, it is estimated that over 6 and a half billion people across the globe own mobile devices. That's over 80% of the world's population! At ITEC, the goal of our film training program is to train and equip followers of Christ in basic documentary filmmaking to give them a voice by putting them on a equal playing field to share the stories that make the name of Jesus known in their villages and around the world. The training consists of a blend of classroom teaching and hands-on learning. Trainees learn cinematography, editing, and how to use those to tell a story. They complete two projects, and the class ends with a film festival where the trainees present their completed film for an audience screening. Our goal is to give our graduates the basic tools and inspiration to continue to develop and practice their skills. To make documentaries that spread the Gospel and inspire and connect the Church around the world. Using film to bring messages of hope into the world around us them and share stories of all the wonderful things God is doing.
