What Are You Leaving Behind?

Charlie Vittitow, missions pastor at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY, challenges us from his experiences over the years in missions.  He went first as a dentist to care for people, then as a dental trainer to train indigenous Christ-followers to care for their own people's dental needs as a door opener for the Gospel, and now as a leader of a large church's missions involvement.

One purpose of missions is to support the local church and help them to have a greater impact for the Gospel in their area.  They know the people, the culture and the language, making them the most capable of sharing Christ in their own community.

They will know which skills they need to be trained in because they know which ones they can best utilize to continue reaching people with the Gospel after the training team goes home.

Are we willing to listen to their needs from their perspective, even if that means that they may not need our help?
