Virtual Film Training
In recent years, virtual meetings and video calls have become increasingly popular. No matter where you are, as long as you have internet access, you can connect with others all over the world on many different virtual platforms.
At ITEC, we aren't always able to physically go to every place we train. By providing virtual trainings, we are able to connect with Indigenous Christ followers living in areas of the world where we are unable to travel in person. For 6 weeks in January and February, ITEC film trainer, Brian, provided virtual Film training to Christ followers living in the Caribbean. Each Friday, the 8 indigenous Christ followers and Brian met over Zoom to go through the film training course step-by-step. Prepared and on time each week, the trainees learned the basics of cinematography, how to edit their films, how to find a good story to tell, and how and where to upload their films for distribution. At the end of the week, all 8 trainees completed their individual film projects and presented them to the class. Each participant successfully completed the training and received a graduate certificate via email. While internet connection and delays in translation occurred, these challenges were faced head-on, and the training was fruitful and effective.
So much of the digital world that we live in is expressed through film and media. The goal of the Film training program at ITEC is to see indigenous Christ followers use online platforms to bring messages of hope into the world around them and share stories through film of what God is doing, opening doors to share the Gospel.
Perhaps you have an interest or background in media or film, and you're wondering how God can use your skills to teach other Christ followers around the world. We want to talk with you!
