Training Within the US

Our mission statement at ITEC is to equip indigenous Christ followers for meaningful participation in Christ's Great Commission. We accomplish this by developing tools and training programs, training indigenous Christ followers, and equipping others to do the same both domestically and abroad. We do this with the goal of eliminating the potential for dependency by partnering with, training alongside, and learning from the indigenous churches.

While the events of the last two years have changed the way that many ministries approach global missions, our efforts have not stopped. In this month's update Mark, a missions pastor at one of our partner churches, shares about what partnering with ITEC has looked like for them in this season.

"As a former field missionary to the Kingdom of Eswatini, I have seen my fair share of healthy and unhealthy ministry efforts from churches in the West. Those experiences challenged me to think about how our church partners with different ministries around the world.

After our time living overseas, I had the opportunity to manage partnerships for the ministry in Eswatini. It was during this season that I began to learn and understand what ITEC does to support churches. The testimony of the Saint family is very encouraging, but seeing how the Lord has used their story to develop a ministry that is helping fulfill the Great Commission is a remarkable work of His hand.

In 2019, when the Lord called me to serve at Warren Baptist Church, I knew that we as a church needed to be willing to learn to be more effective in our outreach. ITEC's philosophy of equipping and empowering the local church really encouraged me to investigate ways they can help us improve how we engage cross-culturally. Shortly after moving to Augusta, we reached out to ITEC and asked them to come share with our family of faith. Prior to them speaking at our church, I took a small team to visit and tour the ITEC office.

Over the past 2 years we have facilitated both Missions Dilemma and medical training. We have taken teams to ITEC for small engine repair and solar equipping. Jaime and Jim, and the entire team at ITEC, have been so gracious to pour into me and our church family to help us be better equipped for His glory. Our partnership with ITEC helps us live out our calling in Ephesians 4:12 which is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, for building up the body of Christ."

Perhaps you or your church are exploring ways to implement an effective and sustainable missions strategy. We would love to connect with you! To schedule a tour or discuss what a partnership with ITEC might look like for your church, please reach out to us at [email protected].
