Multiplying Through Equipping

Before his ascension, Jesus left his disciples with a great and monumental task: Go and make disciples, baptize them in the name of the Father, and teach them to obey. Today, over two thousand years later, the Church continues to work to fulfill the command left by Christ. The development of technology, transportation methods, and communication has opened doors to see the Gospel go forth at a quicker pace, but the urgency to see the lost become found is greater than ever. At ITEC, we have been asking ourselves many questions, as we seek to train indigenous Christ followers, one of which stands out above others: How can we see these trainings multiply quickly and effectively? We realize as a team that we can only be in so many places at once, so by partnering with local churches in the US, we can see trainings multiplied around the world.

This month, two churches sent teams to our ITEC campus in Florida to be equipped to train in medical and farming on their next short-term mission trip. As we continue exploring what it looks like to multiply, we were excited to tread on new ground, as our farm team conducted the first ever full farm training and equipping on campus and our medical team conducted their first equipping course. From the foundations of compost building to applying biblical principles to money management with the Crown Financial Money Map,  our farming team walked each church through the ins and outs of every detail of farm training. Meanwhile, our medical training team worked for two days with local medical professionals to show them how to use the ITEC medical curriculum to teach community health and hygiene on their next short-term mission trips. These churches will be conducting their own trainings later this year and next year, and we are looking forward to seeing how God uses these fellow brothers and sisters in Christ to train the indigenous Church!

We are humbled and thankful to be apart of the story of how God is using His people to share the gospel through trainings around the world. If you or your church would like to learn more about what having a long-term impact on a short term trip can look like, we’d love to connect with you! Please visit itecusa.org for more information.
