How Can We Solve This Problem Together?

Charlie Vittitow is the mission pastor at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY. Charlie has traveled around the world and has participated in missions for many years. Over the years, Charlie has learned a lot about how to and how not to be involved in missions.

The real key to effective mission efforts is relationship. In a healthy relationship, each party esteems the other party as their equal. The Bible tells us to submit to each other and be clothed in humility (1 Peter 5:5).

Our tendency is to jump in and solve problems. As Christ followers, we need to work with the local, indigenous church to ask the Lord what He might want us to do together so that He can receive the glory.

What would it look like if we were to slow down, listen to our brothers and sisters in Christ to better understand the need, and then create a solution together?
