Fixing Bikes, Showing Love

Last year, Daniel joined an ITEC mechanical training held in a region of South Asia where bold faith often comes with a cost. Since then, he’s been putting that training to work—far beyond what we could’ve imagined.

Daniel doesn’t run a shop. Instead, he travels from village to village, looking for broken-down motorcycles and offering repairs. “I want to show the love,” he says—and he means it.

Every fix is an open door to share the hope he has in Christ. His boldness has real consequences: Daniel is thrown in jail two to three times a month for speaking openly about his faith, especially when talking with Muslims.

One day, a man named Imran saw Daniel working on a motorcycle and asked where he got his tools. That question led to a powerful conversation—and six months ago, Imran chose to follow Christ. In June, he joined Daniel at an ITEC training in the region, this time as a fellow trainee.

The smile on Daniel’s face is unmistakable. Even with real risk all around him, he continues to serve with courage, skill, and an unshakable joy.

This is why we train. Not just to teach hands-on skills—but to equip Christ followers to show and share the love of Christ. If you want to learn more about equipping your church for short-term missions with a long-term impact, we would love to talk to you. Visit itecusa.org today!
