Equipping the Church for Long-Term Impact on Short-Term Trips

Short-term mission trips have become a multi-billion dollar per year industry. Western churches and their members want to have a hands-on impact overseas. Many short-term mission trips have an impact only as long as the team is there. Once the team leaves, the impact also leaves.

Having a long-term impact on a short-term trip is challenging. In order to have a longer impact, our mission efforts need to revolve around the local church. When we allow the church overseas to take the lead, we can come alongside them to train them to meet the needs of people in their community. As they meet people's needs, they will also have the opportunity to share the Gospel with them.
