Coffee Houses

As you look for places in your local community to meet up to begin LIFE Coaching or mentoring someone, public locations always work the best. Coffee houses, restaurants, libraries, or other community centers generally work out well. The idea is to get outside of the church building and get out into the community into a neutral setting.

For the most part, coffeehouses have become the go-to place for most LIFE Coaches as they are generally the center of social interaction. These establishments share some of the same characteristics as a bar or restaurant focusing but focus primarily on providing coffee, tea, and light snacks. They are a great place to congregate, talk, write, read, just pass the time, or even have a cup of coffee.

Coffee houses have not just recently become the latest fad with the advent of Starbucks and the latte. Many of our countries founding fathers spent time in coffeehouses and some would even say that drinking coffee is patriotic. Paul Revere, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson were just a few men from our history known to frequent coffeehouses for social and political purposes.

Wherever you decide to meet up to coach or mentor someone, remember that it is about building a relationship with that person. If they don't like coffee, don't force them to go. But if they do, make sure you plan to buy them a cup so that there are no hindrances getting in the way of meeting up.
