Agriculture Training Development Continues

With every passing day it's beginning to feel more like spring here in central Florida. A few members of our team have been hard at work laying the foundation for the I-FARM test plots. It may seem strange, but we're pretty excited to see compost piles, ground stakes, and soil starting to fill our open space next to our office.
Last year, a small team from ITEC went to be trained in Zimbabwe by an organization called Foundations for Farming. They teach conservation agriculture, a farming technique focusing on minimal soil disturbance, using soil cover and rotating crops to increase yields. Foundations for Farming focuses just as much, if not more, on teaching the Bible through their curriculum. They have graciously offered to share their curriculum with us as we adapt it to ITEC's model for accelerated, Christ-follower training overseas.
Many families in developing nations feed themselves and make their living from what they grow. By learning conservation agriculture principles along with Biblical principles, families can go from deficit to surplus. This change, along with Gospel transformation, can truly impact families and communities.
Please join us in praying for Dave, Matt, and Aaron as they continue to work on developing the I-FARM curriculum. We will begin planting the test plots in early March and look forward to sharing updates with you as they come.
